Rule 2 - Definitions - Multi-State Cooperative Societies Rules, 2002Extract Definitions 2. In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,- (i) Act means the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002 (39 of 2002); (ii) authorised officer means an officer authorised by the Central Government for the purpose of section 103 of the Act; (iii) decree means any decree of a civil court and includes any decision or order referred to in section 94 of the Act; (iv) decree holder means any person holding a decree as defined in clause (iii); (v) defaulter means any multi-state cooperative Society, any cooperative society, member or any other person committing default; (vi) form means a form appended to these rules; (vii) general meeting means a meeting of the general body including a representative general body referred to in the first proviso to sub-section (1) of section 38; (viii) judgment debtor means any multi-state cooperative society against which or any person against whom a decree has been obtained; (ix) recovery officer means any person authorised to execute the powers of the Central Registrar under section 94; (x) sale officer means a person authorised by the Central Registrar by a general or special order, to attach and sale the property of judgment debtor or to execute any decree by attachment or sale of property; (xi) section means a section of the Act; (xii) Schedule means Schedule appended to these rules; (xiii) Words and expressions defined in the Act and used but not defined in these rules shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in the Act.
