INSTRUCTION NO. 842/CBDT Dated : June 12, 1975 The Inspecting Asst. Commissioners of Acquisition Ranges receive from the Registering Officers fortnightly returns enclosing the statements furnished by the transferees at the time of registration of documents purporting to transfer by way of sale or exchange any immovable property. The information contained in these forms may be useful for the purpose of assessments under the Income-tax, Wealth-tax. Gift-tax and Estate Duty Acts. If action in this regard has not already been taken, the Board desire that suitable procedure may be laid down to ensure that these forms or the information contained in them is passed on to the Income-tax Officers assessing or having jurisdiction over the transferers/transferees as also the Asst. Controller concerned for utilisation in the course of income-tax, wealth-tax, gift-tax and estate duty proceedings.
