List of corporations owned and controlled by Central Government within the meaning of the section ‑ List being only illustrative - Companies Law - Circular : No. 6/76

Circular : No. 6/76 [8/25/(619B)/75 ‑ CL ‑ V], dated 17 ‑ 3 ‑ 1976 as amended by Circular No. 27/76 [8/25/(619B)/75 ‑ CL ‑ V], dated 13 ‑ 8 ‑ 1976 and Circular No. 2/77 [8/25(619B)/75 ‑ CL ‑ V], dated 11 ‑ 2 ‑ 1977. Subject:- List of corporations owned and controlled by Central Government within the meaning of the section ‑ List being only illustrative Enquiries have been received by the Department whether certain institutions or corporations are owned or controlled by the Central/State Governments within the meaning of section 619B. The matter has been carefully examined by this Department and it is hereby clarified that the following institutions or corporations are owned or controlled by the Central Government within the meaning of section 619B : 1. Nationalised Banks. 2. General Insurance Corporation of India. 3. Life Insurance Corporation of India. 4. Industrial Development Bank of India. The co‑operative institutions, Industrial Credit Investment Corporation of India, Unit Trust of India and Industrial Finance Corporation, however, are not covered within the definition of corporations/institutions owned or controlled by the Central/State Governments. It may, however, be noted that the above list of corporations is only illustrative and not exhaustive.
