Sealing of LCL consignments for SEZ – regarding - Customs - 02/2017

During the recently held Trade Facilitation Committee meeting, it was brought to notice by the trade that after examination of LCL consignments meant for SEZ in the CFS, every individual package/roll/unit is sealed before being sent to the SEZ. It has been represented that officers should seal the complete consignment in one unit rather than every package individually. The matter has been examined. It is decided that henceforth the package shall not be sealed individually. Rather the packages pertaining to one consignment shall be put on the truck, the whole consignment covered by tarpaulin and then be sealed properly. Deputy/Assistant Commissioner, Docks/CFSs, shall ensure compliance of this notice. Any difficulty in the implementation of this Public Notice may be brought to the notice of the undersigned. (Dr. N.
