Kind attention of all Importers, Members of Trade and Industry Associations, Customs Brokers and others is drawn to the practice of taking signature stamp of out of charge officer on the final print-out of Bill of Entry. In this regard, it has been observed that the final print-out of the Bill of Entry which is generated through Customs EDI System after out of charge (OOC) is a system generated document. It bears the name and SSOID of the officer who has given out-of-charge. Therefore, it does not require signature by the officer giving out of charge (OOC). In view of the above, it has been decided that henceforth, the signature stamp of the out of charge (OOC) officer will not be required on the final print-out of the Bill of Entry. Difficulties, if any, faced in the implementation of this Public Notice may be brought to the notice of the undersigned.
