No. S/V-30/Misc-26/2017 CSD JNCH Date: 12.10.2017 PUBLIC NOTICE No. 130/2017 Subject: Selection and scanning of Mulund ICD bound containers at JNCH In order to improve non intrusive examination, containers imported at Nhava Sheva and heading to Mulund ICD are being subjected to scanning at CSD, JNCH. 2. The intimation about containers selected for scanning is automatically communicated to Terminal operators at JNPT, Liners, Port Out gate Preventive officers, CSD(JNCH), CONCOR (Custodians of ICD Mulund) and Designated DC/AC of Mulund ICD by Email. 3. Terminal operators and CONCOR have to ensure that the containers selected for scanning are brought to the Scanning area at JNCH for the purpose of Scanning along with EIR (in case of by Road) or SMTP (In case of by Rail), and upon scanning the CSD JNCH officer will put remark of being scanned on the copy of EIR/SMTP as the case may be. 4. In case the Containers selected for scanning but could not be scanned for some reason, the same will be subjected to 100 % examination by the Customs authorities at ICD Mulund under Supervision of DC/AC Mulund ICD. 5. After completion of scanning at CSD JNCH locations, CSD (JNCH) officers will transmit the outcome, to the Designated DC/AC ICD Mulund, through designated E-mail. The suspicious images will also be transmitted to the dedicated email ID of ICD, Mulund and the suspicious containers will have to be 100 % examination under Supervision of DC/AC Mulund ICD. Outcome of 100 % examination is required to be sent to E-mail id of CSD (JNCH). 6. In the circumstances where situation arise, which may require physical examination of a container at JNCH, in such situation, examination will be conducted at designated area of JNCH in the presence of ICD Mulund Officers. Designated place will be decided by AC ACD depending upon facts and circumstances. 7. It will be duty of Examination staff/Out of charge officer to feed the examination report in the system. In case, the Containers are selected for scanning but could not be scanned, it shall be responsibility of the examination officer to examine 100 % and enter examination Report in System. 8. Superintendent (Admin) CSD, JNCH is designated to coordinate with various stakeholders in relation to the Scanning of ICD, Mulund bound Containers. 9. In case of any difficulty, the specific issue may be brought to the notice of ADC/JC or DC/AC in charge of CSD, NS-III (email address: [email protected]) 10. Action to be taken in terms of decisions taken in this Public Notice should be considered as standing order for the purpose of officers and staff of JNCH.
