Setting up of establishment of Disposal Section in ICD- reg. - Customs - PUBLIC NOTICE No. 09 / 2023Extract OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS BENGALURU CITY CUSTOMS NO. 1, QUEEN S ROAD, CENTRAL REVENUE BUILDING, BENGALURU 560001 DIN: 20230872MR000000C470 Date : 22-08-2023 PUBLIC NOTICE No. 09 / 2023 Subject : Setting up of establishment of Disposal Section in ICD- reg. * * * The attention of Importers, Customs Brokers, Warehouse licensees, members of the trade and all other stakeholders are invited to Setting up of establishment of Disposal Section in ICD . 2. To ensure the efficient and timely disposal of seized/confiscated goods in ICD, a new section known as the Disposal Section is established in ICD, City Customs Bengaluru. Henceforth, all matters concerning the lawful disposal of seized/confiscated goods within ICD, City Customs, Bengaluru will be handled and completed by the Disposal Section, ICD, City Customs, Bengaluru. 3. The disposal process, whether through public auction or authorized means, will be carried out with strict adherence to the relevant provisions of the law, rules, and in line with the guidelines outlined in the disposal Manual, 2019. Additionally, the procedures and methods employed during the disposal will be in accordance with any relevant instructions issued by the Board from time to time. 4. The newly established disposal section in ICD consists of one Superintendent and one Inspector, with the section being headed by an officer of the rank of Assistant/Deputy Commissioner (AC/DC). The entire section is placed under the overall supervision of the Joint/Additional Commissioner (ADC) of ICD, Bengaluru City Customs Commissionerate. 5. This arrangement is being implemented to streamline the handling of seized/ confiscated goods ensuring strict adherence to regulations, and expediting the disposal procedures within the ICD, City Customs Bengaluru. The aim is to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in managing these processes, and maintain seamless compliance with customs procedures and guidelines. 6. All trade associations/members of the Customs Brokers Association are requested to take note and publicize the contents of this Public Notice among their members/constituents. 7. Difficulty, if any, may be brought to the notice of the Joint/Additional Commissioner of ICD, Bengaluru City Customs Commissionerate. This is to inform the general public that the following officers will be handling the Disposal Section of ICD, Bengaluru City Customs Commissionerate in the year 2023-24.
