Please refer to above. With a view to provide stricter control over issue of refunds, a new Refund Approval functionality has been provided in AST. Henceforth, all high value refunds will need on line approval of CIT/Addl.CIT, as per following schedule:- Refund Amount (Rs.) Approving Authorities upto 1 lac ------ 1 lac to 1 crore Addl. CIT above 1 crore CIT Refund Banker will not pick up a refund for issue if the approval has not been granted as per above amount limits. Enclosed user manual explains the procedure for giving on-line approval. CIT Addl.CIT would also be able to generate list of 'pending approval' cases.
