The amount of surcharge on income tax. - Income Tax - 379/CBDT

INSTRUCTION NO. 379/CBDT Dated: February 8, 1972 Reference is invited to Board's Circular No. 77 of even date regarding Companies (Surcharge on Income-tax) Act, 1971. 2. In order to ensure that the amount of surcharge under the aforesaid Act is collected before the end of the financial year, the Board desire that the Income-tax Officers concerned should keep a proper watch over collections. In the event of default in payment of the surcharge on or before 15th March, 1972, appropriate action for the recovery of the surcharge within the current year itself should be initiated without any loss of time.
