Jurisdiction proposals for the I.T. Officers. - Income Tax - 403/CBDT

INSTRUCTION NO. 403/CBDT Dated: April 3, 1972 Reference is invited to the Board's Instruction No. 396 (F. No. 279/240/71-ITJ) dated 22nd March 1972 and to say that for the words "category I and II" occurring in para 2(b)(ii) of the aforesaid Instruction the words "category I" may please be read. Further, it will be preferable to synchronise the issue of relevant jurisdiction orders pertaining to the I.T. Officers and the Appellate Asst. Commissioners and it is, therefore suggested that the jurisdiction proposals for the I.T. Officers may please be drawn up and before finalisation sent to the Board along with consequential proposals for Appellate Asst. Commissioners' jurisdiction by 1st May 1972; in case Commissioners' Conference is held before that, Commissioners/Additional Commissioners are advised to send/bring relevant proposals for possible discussion in the Conference. Thereafter final decision will be taken and the proposals for I.T. Officers' jurisdiction cleared for issue by Commissioners and the Appellate Asst. Commissioners' jurisdiction orders issued by the Board, both effective from the same date, latest by 1st June, 1972. Any further suggestions or points on the subject may also please be sent to the Board along with the proposals.
