INSTRUCTION NO. 987/CBDT Dated : July 27, 1976 Recently, it has come to the notice of the Board that all the Income-tax Officers of particular District were not aware of a very important Instruction issued by the Board although six months had passed from the date of issue of the Instruction. The Board views such situations with concern. With a view to avoid such situations, you are requested to ensure that immediately on the receipt of the Board's Instructions, these are circulated to your officers and they take appropriate steps to implement them. 2. Board also desire that Instruction may be issued to the Inspecting Assistant Commissioners of Income-tax to take appropriate steps in their respective ranges for implementing the instructions of the Board.
