PAN must be quoted in all communications -individual assessees,Board, various Directorates of Inspection. - Income Tax - 1166/CBDT

INSTRUCTION NO. 1166/CBDT Dated : April 25, 1978 Reference is invited to para 3 of Boards instruction No.1054 dated 18th April, 1972. 2. It has been observed that in the reports received by the Board from CsIT in respect of individual assessees, the PAN is quite often not quoted. Similar omission is sometimes noticed in the communications sent by the I.T. officers to the assessees and also to other departments. The Board desire that in all communications regarding individual assessees including to the Board and various Directorates of Inspection, the PAN must be quoted.
