Agreement shall take effect from the date on which the instruments of Ratification are exchanged. - Income Tax - 1213/CBDT

INSTRUCTION NO. 1213/CBDT Dated : October 16,1978 Reference is invited to the Department of Revenue and Banking (Revenue Wing) Notification No.G.S.R.184(E) dated 15th April, 1977 published in the Gazettee of India Part-II -section-3 -sub section(i) dated 15th April 1977 on the above subject and to say that article 17(1) thereof provides that the agreement shall take effect from the date on which the instruments of Ratification are exchanged in New Delhi. This was done on 3-8-78 and consequently the Agreement has come into force w.e.f.3rd August 1978.
