Competition commission of India (Salary, Allowances and Other Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairperson and other members) Amendment Rules, 2009 Notification No. G.S.R. No. 136(E) dated, 27-2-2009 In exercise of the power conferred by clause (d) of sub-section (2) of section 63 read with sub-section (1) of section (2) of section 14 of the Competition Act, 2002 (12 of 2003), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules to amend the Competition Commission of India (Salary, Allowances and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairperson and other Members) Rules, 2003 , namely:- 1. Short title and commencement. - (1) These rules may be called the Competition Commission of India (Salary, Allowances and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairperson and other Members) Amendment Rule, 2009 (2) These rules shall come into force with effect from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In Competition Commission of India (Salary, Allowance and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairperson and other Members) Rules, 2003 , - (i) for rule 3 the following rule shall be substituted, namely;- 3. Pay - The Chairperson shall be paid a consolidated monthly salary of rupees three lakh and every Member shall be paid a consolidated monthly salary of rupees two lakh fifty thousand. They shall not be entitled to house and car. ; (ii) rule 5 shall be omitted. (iii) In rule 7 for the words as are applicable to officers holding Group 'A' post of the Central Government drawing an equivalent pay the following shall be substituted, namely;- as applicable to officers of the Central Government in Apex Grade (rupees eighty thousand-fixed) in the case of Chairperson and Grade Pay of rupees twelve thousand in the Pay Band-4 (rupees 37400-67000) in the case of Members. ; (iv) In rule 8 for the words as are applicable to officers holding Group 'A' post of the Central Government drawing an equivalent pay the following shall be substituted, namely:- as applicable to officers of the Central Government in Apex Grade (rupees eighty thousand-fixed) in the case of Chairperson and Grade Pay of rupees twelve thousand in the Pay Band-4 (rupees 37400-67000) in the case of Members. ; (v) In rule 9 for the words, as may be applicable to officers holding Group 'A' post of the Central Government drawing an equivalent pay the following shall be substituted, namely:- as applicable to officers of the Central Government in Apex Grade (rupees eighty thousand-fixed) in the case of Chairperson and Grade Pay of rupees twelve thousand in the Pay Band-4 (rupees 37400-67000) in the case of Members. ; (vi) Rule 10 shall be omitted.
