Amendment to 14 notifications

Notification No. 55/89-C.E.

Dated 1-3-1989

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) or Department of Revenue and Banking, as the case may be, specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table.

1.	188A/62-Central Excises, dated the 3rd November, 1962.	In the said notification, for the words and figures, "Rs. 4 per kg.", the words and figures "Rs. 4.20 per kg." shall be substituted.
2.	86/77-Central Excises, dated the 9th May, 1977.	In the said notification, for the words "ten rupees per kilogram", the words and figures, "Rs. 10.50 per kilogram" shall be substituted.
3.	44/80-Central Excises, dated 24th April, 1980.	In the said notification, in the proviso, in clause (a), for the words, "duty of excise" the words, figures and brackets "duty of excise, or as the case may be, the additional duty leviable under section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975)" shall be substituted.
4.	467/86-Central Ex­cises, dated the 23rd December, 1986.	In the said notification, for the words and figures "Rs. 5" the words and figures "Rs. 5.25" shall be substituted.
5.	53/87-Central Ex­cises, dated the 1st March, 1987.	In the Table annexed to the said notification, - (a) against Sl. No. 02, in column (4), for the entry, the entry "Rs. 3.15 per kilogram" shall be substituted;
		(b) against Sl. No. 06, in column (4), for the entry, the entry "Rs. 3.70 per kilogram" shall be substituted;
		(c) against Sl. No. 09, in column (4), for the entry, the entry "Rs. 3.15 per kilogram" shall be substituted;
		(d) against Sl. No. 10, in column (4), for the entry, the entry "Rs. 6.30 per kilogram" shall be substituted;
		(e) against Sl. No. 11, in column (4), for the entry, the entry "Rs. 13.86 per kilogram" shall be substituted;
		(f) against Sl. No. 13, in column (4), for the entry, the entry "Rs. 36.96 per kilogram" shall be substituted;
		(g) against Sl. No. 14, in column (4), for the entry, the entry "Rs. 49.67 per kilogram" shall be substituted;
		(h) against Sl. No. 16, in column (4), for the entry, the entry "Rs. 13.86 per kilogram" shall be substituted;
		(i) for Sl. No. 18 and the entries relating thereto the following Sl. Nos. and the entries shall be substituted, namely, :-

6.	63/87-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1987.	In the Table annexed to the said notification, - (a) against Sl. No. 02, in column (4), for the word and figures "Rs. 6.50", the word and figures "Rs. 6.83" shall be substituted;
		(b) against Sl. No. 03, in column (4), for the word and figures "Rs. 8.00", the word and figures "Rs. 8.40" shall be substituted; and
		(c) against Sl. No. 05, in column (4), for the word and figures "Rs. 8.50", the word and figures "Rs. 8.93" shall be substituted;
7.	65/87-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1987.	In the Table annexed to the said notification, against S. No. 05, in column (3), for the entry, the entry "Blankets and towels" shall be substituted.
8.	208/87-Central Excises, dated the 11th September, 1987.	In the said notification, for the words "rupees nine and paise twenty four per kilogram" the words and figures, "Rs. 9.70 per kilogram" shall be substituted.
9.	74/88-Central Ex­cises, dated the 1st March, 1988.	In the said notification, for the words "rupees seven and paise fifteen per kilogram", the words "rupees seven and paise fifty-one per kilogram" shall be substituted.
10.	76/88-Central Ex­cises, dated the 1st March, 1988.	In the said notification, for the words "rupees sixteen and paise fifty per kilogram", the words "rupees seventeen and paise thirty-three per kilogram" shall be substituted.
11.	77/88-Central Ex­cises, dated the 1st March, 1988.	In the said notification, for the words "rupees four per kilogram", the words "rupees four and paise twenty per kilogram" shall be substituted.
12.	78/88-Central Ex­cises, dated the 1st March, 1988.	In the said notification, for the words "rupees eight and paise eighty per kilogram", the words "rupees nine and paise twenty four per kilogram" shall be substituted.
13.	80/88-Central Ex­cises, dated the 1st March, 1988.	In the said notification,- (a) for the words "acrylic fibre", the words "acrylic staple fibre and tow including tops thereof "shall be substituted; and
		(b) for the words "rupees seven and paise four per kilogram", the and words "rupees seven and paise thirty-nine per kilogram" shall be substituted.
14.	82/88-Central Ex­cises, dated the 1st March, 1988.	In the Table annexed to the said notification,- (a) against Sl. No. 01, in column (4), for the word and figures "Rs. 4.50", the word and figures "Rs. 4.73" shall be substituted;
		(b) against Sl. No. 02, in column (4), for the word and figures "Rs. 5.25", the word and figures "Rs. 4.73" shall be substituted; and
		(c) against Sl. No. 03, in column (4), for the word and figures "Rs. 5.50", the word and figures "Rs. 5.80" shall be substituted.
