Amendment to six notifications

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table.

In the said notification, in the opening paragraph, for the figures and words "Rs. 4.15 per gross boxes of 50 matches each or Rs. 24.90 per gross boxes of 300 matches each", the figures and words "Rs. 3.00 per gross boxes of 50 matches each or Rs. 18.00 per gross boxes of 300 matches each" shall be substituted. |

In the said notification, in the opening paragraph, for the figures and words "Rs. 1.60 per gross boxes of 50 matches each or Rs. 9.60 per gross boxes of 300 matches each", the figures and words "Rs. 1.10 per gross boxes of 50 matches each or Rs. 6.60 per gross boxes of 300 matches each" shall be substituted. |

In the said notification, for the figures and words "35% ad valorem", the figures and words "30% ad valorem" shall be substituted. |

In the said notification, in the Table,-
(i) S. Nos. 5, 7 and 14 and the entries relating thereto, shall be omitted; |

|
(ii) in S. No. 17, for the entry in column (4), the entries "Rs. 8,400 per motor vehicle" and "Rs. 4,200 per motor vehicle" shall respectively be substituted; |
|
|
|
(iii) in S. No. 19, for the entry in column (4), the entry "Rs. 525 per auto rickshaw" shall be substituted. |

In the said notification, for the words "fifteen per cent ad valorem", the words "rupees five per kilogram" shall be substituted. |
