Appointment of other officers as Central Excise Officers

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of section 2 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) read with rule 4 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Board of Excise and Customs hereby appoints the Director-General, Central Economic Intelligence Bureau as a Central Excise Officer and invests the said Director-General with the powers of a Collector of Central Excise, to be exercised by him throughout the territory of India, such powers being powers of a Central Excise Officer conferred under the said Central Excises and Salt Act and the said Central Excise Rules.
