Specified goods falling under Chapter 25, 27, 28, 29 or 31

Notification No. 219/86-C.E.

Dated 2-4-1986

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 40/85-Central Excises, dated the 17th March, 1985, namely :—

In the said notification,—

(i) in the opening paragraph, for the words and figures "Chapter 28 or 29", the words and figures "Chapter 25, 27, 28, 29 or 31" shall be substituted;

(ii) in the Table, after Sl. No. 6 and the entries relating thereto, the following Sl. Nos. and entries shall be inserted, namely :—

Sulphur dioxide, lime and kiln gas

If consumed within the factory of production in the manufacture of sugar.

8.

Producer gas, Nitrogen and Carbon disulphide

If consumed within the factory of production in the manufacture of textile fibres or yarns.

9.

Burnt lime, black liquor, white liquor and soap-stone

If consumed within the factory of production in the manufacture of paper or paper boards.

10.

Agricultural grade Zinc Sulphate

If the Assistant Collector of Central Excise is satisfied that such Zinc Sulphate is intended for use as micronutrient.

11.

Dicalcim phosphate

If the Assistant Collector of Central Excise is satisfied that such dicalcium phosphate is intended for use as animal feed.

12.

Acrylonitrile

If consumed within the factory of production in the manufacture of acrylic fibre.

13.

Paraxylene

If consumed within the factory of production in the manufacture of Dimethyl Tarephthalate.".
