Central Excise Rules - First Amendment of 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Excise Rules, 1944, namely :-

1. (I) These rules may be called the Central Excise (First amendment) Rules, 1998.

(II) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In clause (a) of sub-rule (1) of rule 13 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, after the words "permit export of specified excisable goods in bond without payment of duty" the words, brackets and figures "in the like manner, as the goods regarding which the rebate is granted under sub-rule (1) of rule 12" shall be inserted.
