Black sheets for solar energy equipments Notification No. 242/86-Cus. Dated 11-4-1986 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts black continuously plated solar selective coating sheets in cut lengths or in coils, when imported into India, for the manufacture of solar energy equipments, from the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), and the additional duty leviable thereon under section 3 of the second mentioned Act, subject to the condition that an officer not lower in rank than a Director in the Department of Non-conventional Energy Sources of the Government of India is satisfied that the goods in question are required for the said purpose and certifies to this effect and recommends grant of the above exemption. 2. This notification shall be in force upto and inclusive of the 31st March, 1987.
