This Notification has been superseded by Notification No. 82/2007 dated 3/7/2007 Exempts the beer of Nepalese origin from the additional duty leviable 17th December, 2003 Notification No. 178 / 2003 - Customs In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) read with sub-section (6) of section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), the Central Government being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do hereby exempts the beer of Nepalese origin falling under heading 2203 of the First Schedule to the said Customs Tariff Act from the whole of the additional duty leviable on such beer under the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, No. 32/2003-Customs, dated the 1st March, 2003, published in the Gazette of India vide G.S.R. 167(E), dated the 1st March, 2003.
