Does STRP get anything from CBEC for the return prepared by him?

No, CBEC is not liable to pay anything to STRP for preparation of returns of the assessee.  As per the Rule 9 of the STRP Scheme, 2009 (Notification No. 7/2009-ST dated 03-02-2009 as amended by the Notification No. 22/2010-ST dated 20-07-2010) "An assessee shall pay a fees as may be agreed between the STRP and Assessee.  The Board recoments as a yardstick, a fee of Rs. 1000/- per return prepared by the STRP.
