Index of Eight Core Industries (Base: 2011-12=100) for January, 2020 - News and Press Release Dated:- 28-2-2020 - News - The summary of the Index of Eight Core Industries (base: 2011-12) is given at the Annexure . The Eight Core Industries comprise 40.27 per cent of the weight of items included in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP). The combined Index of Eight Core Industries stood at 137.5 in January, 2020, which increased by 2.2 per cent as compared to the index of January,2019. Its cumulative growth during April, 2019 to January, 2020 was 0.6 per cent. Coal Coal production (weight: 10.33 per cent) increased by 8.0 per cent in January, 2020 over January,2019. Its cumulative index declined by 2.4 per cent during April to January, 2019-20 over corresponding period of the previous year. Crude Oil Crude Oil production (weight: 8.98 per cent) declined by 5.3 per cent in January, 2020 over January, 2 019. Refinery Products Petroleum Refinery production (weight: 28.04 per cent) i n creased by 1.9 per cent in January, 2020 over January , 2019. Its cumulative index declined by 0.4 per cent during April to January, 2019-20 over the corresponding period of previous year. Fertilizers Fertilizers production (weight: 2.63 per cent) declined by 0.1 per cent in January, 2020 over January , 2019. Its cumulative index increased by 4.2 per cent during April to January, 2019-20 over the corresponding period of previous year. Steel Steel production (weight: 17.92 per cent) increased by 2.2 per cent in January, 2020 over January , 2019. Its cumulative index .....
