2021 (5) TMI 1016 - SCH - GST

Issues: Bail conditions, Deposit of money

In the judgment delivered by the Supreme Court of India, the petitioner was represented by Shri Sidharth Luthra and Narender Hooda, Sr. Advocates, along with other legal representatives. The court ordered the petitioner to deposit a total of ?4 crores within four months, with specific amounts to be deposited at different intervals. The first deposit of ?1 crore was to be made within four weeks from the date of the order, followed by subsequent deposits of ?1 crore each within one, two, and three months from the initial deposit. The court emphasized the importance of providing proof of deposit to the Registry of the Court promptly. The petitioner was granted ad interim relief in the form of release on bail, subject to strict compliance with the deposit conditions. The petitioner was directed to appear before the concerned Court within three days from the order date for the bail process. However, the judgment clearly stated that failure to make any of the deposits would result in the recall of the bail order, leading to the petitioner's surrender and potential forfeiture of the bail bonds. The case was listed for further proceedings on 30-7-2021.
