Section 516 - Notice by liquidator of his appointment. - Companies Act, 1956Extract Notice by liquidator of his appointment. 516. (1) The liquidator shall, within [1] [thirty] days after his appointment publish in the Official Gazette and deliver to the Registrar for registration a notice of his appointment in the form prescribed. (2) If the liquidator fails to comply with sub-section (1), he shall be punishable with fine which may extend to [2] [five hundred rupees] for every day during which the default continues. ---------------------------------- Notes:- [1] Substituted by the Companies (Amendment) Act, 1965, Act 31 of 1965, section 62 and Schedule, for "twenty-one" w.e.f. 15-10-1965. [2] Substituted for "fifty rupees" by the Companies (Amendment) Act, 2000, w.e.f. 13-12-2000.
