Rule 1 - Short title, commencement and interpretation. - Companies (Central Government’s) General Rules and Forms, 1956Extract Companies (Central Government's) General Rules Forms, 1956 (Arrangement of Rules Forms) Companies (Central Government's) General Rules Forms, 1956 [Notification No. SRO 432A, dated 18-2-1956] In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (a) and (b) of sub-section (1) of section 642 of the Companies Act, 1956 (1 of 1956), and all other powers hereunto enabling, the Central Government hereby makes the following Rules, namely: 01. Short title, commencement and interpretation. (i) These Rules may be called the Companies (Central Government's) General Rules and Forms, 1956. (ii) They shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. (iii) The General Clauses Act, 1897 (X of 1897), shall apply to the interpretation of these rules as it applies to the interpretation of a Central Act.
