Rule 1 - Short Tile and Commencement - Interim Rules of Origin for Agreement between the Republic of India and the Kingdom of Thailand

[Notification No. 101/2004-Cus. (N.T), dated 31-8-2004 as amended by Notification No. 131/2004-Cus. (N.T.) dated 24-11-2004.] In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (i) of Section 5 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), the Central Government hereby makes the following Rules, namely :- 1. Short Tile and Commencement. — (1) These rules may be called the 'Interim Rules of Origin'. In determining the origin of products eligible for the preferential tariff concessions for the Early Harvest Scheme pursuant to the Framework Agreement between the Republic of India and the Kingdom of Thailand (hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement"), the following rules shall apply : (2) They shall come into force on the Ist day of September 2004. Application. — These rules shall apply to products consigned from the territory of either of the Parties. These rules shall be superseded and replaced by the Rules of Origin to be negotiated and implemented by the Parties under Article 3(6)(ii) of the Agreement for FTA in goods.
