Article 29 - Termination - ChinaExtract Article 29 Termination This Agreement shall remain in force indefinitely but either of the Contracting States may, on or before the thirtieth day of June in any calendar year beginning after the expiration of a period of five years from the date of its entry into force, give written notice of termination to the other Contracting State through the diplomatic channels. In such event this Agreement shall cease to have effect : (a) in China, in respect of income arising in any taxable year beginning on or after the first day of January next following the calendar year in which the notice of termination is given; (b) in India, in respect of income arising in any previous year beginning on or after the first day of April next following the calendar year in which the notice is given; In witness whereof, the undersigned, being duly authorized thereto, have signed the present Agreement. Done in duplicate at New Delhi on this eighteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and ninety-four in the Hindi, Chinese and English languages, all three texts being equally authentic.
