Article 29 - Entry into force - Syria (Old - Effective upto 31-3-2009)

CHAPTER VI FINAL PROVISIONS Article 29 : Entry into force Each of the Contracting State shall notify to the other the completion of the procedures required by its law for the bringing into force of this Agreement. The Agreement shall enter into force on the date of the latter of these notifications and shall thereupon have effect : (a) in India : (i) in the case of profits derived from operation of aircraft (referred to in Article 8) as respects such profits as are derived after the first day of April, 1975; (ii) in the case of any other income, as respects income assessable for any assessment year commencing on or after the first day of April, 1983. (b) in Syria : (i) in the case of profits derived from operation of aircraft (referred to in Article 8) as respects such profits as are derived after the first day of April, 1975; (ii) in the case of any other income, as respects income assessable for any assessment year commencing on or after the first day of January, 1983.
