All the Importers, Exporters and the Trade are hereby informed that the Central Government has placed great emphasis on reform oriented non-adversial tax administration. CBEC has taken several initiatives to facilitate trade and simplify procedures to reduce interface between the tax officials and the taxpayers. CBEC considers all taxpayers as the cornerstone of economic independence and prosperity of the nation. Therefore it is important to further simplify and modernize the tax system, expand the tax base and improve compliance. 2. In this regard, Board has decided that one day of the week, i.e. every Wednesday (9.00AM to 1.00PM) to be designated as Taxpayers' Day. Therefore, the Principal Commissioner of Customs, Air Customs Commissionerate, Bengaluru will be available to meet taxpayers on Wednesdays without any appointment and address their grievances expeditiously. 3.
