No. S46(Misc)-02/2016(H) Date : 11-04-2016 PUBLIC NOTICE NO.: 36/2016 Subject: Testing of Limestone samples at National Test House, Kolkata-reg. It is noted that while importing Limestone by various Importers, the samples were regularly being forwarded to Custom House, Kolkata for laboratory testing to examine as to whether the aforesaid goods were conforming to the specifications mentioned in IS: 10345 of 2004. Although the said laboratory is carrying out the test on the aforesaid goods with regards to % of CaCO3 and CaO, yet they failed to carry out test conforming the other parameters like alkali test due to lack of equipment facility in the laboratory. 2. Henceforth, the samples of limestone shall be forwarded to National Test House, Kolkata who can carry out such testing i.e., Lime stone, Flux grade, as per IS:10345 of 2004. Since, the test on imported Limestone is to be carried out to ascertain the values of the various parameters mentioned at sl. no. (i) to (vi) of table 1 (clauses 5,6.1.1 and 7) of IS: 10345 of2004, therefore the samples must be subjected to full test by National Test House, Kolkata. In this regard, National Test House, Kolkata had forwarded their quotation i.e., testing charges! sample qty. as follows: (a) The full testing charges is ₹ 13,740/- [break up 12000+14.5% ST]; (b) The fees shall be paid through Demand Draft in favour of Director General, National Test House , payable at Kolkata along with the sample; and (c) For full test, sample required is 10.0kg. The above said cost is to be borne by the Importers of Limestone. 3. Any difficulties faced in implementation of the above should be brought to the notice of the undersigned.
