Cus. Dated: 05.01.2018 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 02/2018 Subject: Board Circular No.43/2017 -Customs dated 16.11.2017 on forwarding of samples for testing to the Outside Laboratories Reg. Kind attention of exporters, importers, Customs Brokers and all other stakeholders is drawn to the Central Board of Excise Customs (CBEC) Circular No. 43/2017-Customs dated 16th November 2017 (copy enclosed), regarding forwarding of samples for testing to the outside laboratories. 2. Due to lack of testing facilities of certain goods in Revenue Laboratories there is delay in clearance of the consignments of these goods due to avoidable movement of samples between Customs field formations and Revenue Laboratories. In this regard CRCL has shortlisted the items whose samples may be forwarded directly by the field formations to the respective laboratories mentioned in Annexure I of the subject circular. While forwarding the samples for testing to the respective laboratories all field formations are required to adhere to the procedure mentioned in Para(3) of the subject circular read with relevant sampling instructions issued by the Commissionerate . 3. Consequent to the above mentioned changes notified by the Board, all the stakeholders are required to take cognisance and comply with the same. (SUMIT KUMAR) Commissioner of Customs
