Pursuant to Circular No. 953/14/2011 dated 12.09.2011 issued by the Central Board of Excise and Customs, New Delhi, the Principal Chief Commissioner of Central Tax, Bengaluru Zone is pleased to constitute the combined Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) in respect of both the organized sector as well as the small scale industries falling in the jurisdiction of Bengaluru North, South, East, West, Northwest, Belagavi, Mangaluru and Mysuru Central Tax Commissionerates. The representatives of Trade and Industry as listed in the Annexure enclosed to this notice shall be members of the RAC. 2. The Commissioners of Central Tax, Bengaluru North, South, East, West, Northwest, Belagavi, Mangaluru and Mysuru Commissionerates will be ex-officio members of the Committee. The Additional / Joint Commissioner of Central Tax (CCO) will also be the ex- office member of the RAC. The Committee will be valid for the financial year 2017-18. 3. The functions of the RAC will be purely advisory in nature and the Committee is intended for resolving procedural difficulties of general nature and is not constituted to deal with any individual cases having judicial or quasi judicial hearing. During the course of meeting, the Committee may discuss with the approval of the Chair, matters of concern, either of sectoral or general nature, that concern tax policy and connected areas including related to its implementation. In order to achieve the greatest level of participation and to inform discussion, members of the Trade / RAC are requested to sponsor points in advance. 4. The Committee will ordinarily meet once in a quarter every year or as often as the Chairman may desire. 5. Travelling and Daily allowance are admissible to the members of the Committee and the same will be regulated in accordance with the orders in force. 6. The success of the Committee depends upon a high degree of interest and on an active involvement of members in its affairs. It is therefore requested that Trade Associations / Chambers / Members of the Committee should ensure that they attend the meeting either in person or through authorized representative as and when scheduled and also submit their agenda points well in advance before each meeting. The points to be sponsored should be presented with full particulars of the issue in a clear and concise manner supported if necessary with circulars, instructions etc., relevant to the discussion of the point sponsored. 7. All the members of the Committee may update their business address, telephone numbers and mail IDs from time to time so that timely correspondence can be made with them. 8. The officers attached to the Principal Chief Commissioners Office will provide necessary support to the Committee and the members of the RAC can contact them on telephone number 080 - 22866423 or 2286 4523 Ext 274 / 278; fax 080-2286 8613; or on email: [email protected] during the office hours on all working days on any point of concern needing attention by the RAC. 9. This Trade Notice applies to the jurisdictional areas with the Central Tax Commissionerates Bengaluru North, South, East, West, Northwest, Belagavi, Mangalore and Mysuru. 10.
