No. S.Misc. 02/2018-19-AM-CH-II Dated: 25.02.2020 PUBLIC NOTICE No. 12/2020 Sub: 24x7 Clearance - Extension of examination, assessment, clearance and Lab under Chennai Customs Zone till 31.05.2020 - reg. Attention of the Importers, Exporters, General Trade, Port Terminal Operators, Shipping Lines/Shipping Agents, Customs Brokers, CFSs, ICDs and all other stake holders is invited to the CBIC Instruction No 02/2020 dated 20.02.2020 on the above subject. Chennai Customs falls under category of designated Sea Port wherein facility of 24x7 Customs Clearance already exists namely DPD for Imports, DPE for Exports and extension of working of Assessment Groups on Saturdays etc. In addition, the Gates of all Port Terminals and Boarding Office are manned 24x7 by Preventive staff. 2. In addition to the existing facilities towards 24x7 working, Chennai Custom House has decided to adopt further measures to effectively strengthen the working so as to address any congestion or delay or surge on account of the prevailing conditions or cessation thereof arising on account of Corona Virus outbreak in China. To handle such emergent situations, Chennai Customs has introduced 24*7 assessment, examination and clearance of Import Export Cargo till 31.05.2020 to mitigate any difficulty that may be faced by the trade. Chennai Customs House Laboratory would also function so that the test results are made available at the earliest. 5. In case of any difficulty following officers may be contacted respectively: I.
