NEW DELHI-110037 C. No. VIII(12)1mport/Tech./PN/06/2020/Pt.1 Dated: 29 .07.2020 PUBLIC NOTICE No. 56/2020 Subject: Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunications Equipment (MTCTE) - reg. Attention of the importers, Custom Brokers, members of the trade and all other stake holders is invited to Board's Instruction No. 15 / 2020- Customs dated 24.07.2020 on the captioned subject. 2. In the said Board's Instruction, attention has been invited to notification NO. TEC/01/2017- TC dated 23.06.2020 issued by the DDG (TC), Ministry of Communications, Telecommunication Engineering Centre, Department of Telecommunication. The operative part of para I of the said notification of Department of Telecommunication is reiterated below: l. Telecommunication Engineering Centre has notified that testing and certification for following telecommunications equipment under phase-Il of Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunications Equipment (MTCTE) regime as provisioned in India Telegraph (Amendment) Rules 2017, shall be mandatory w.e.f. 1 st October 2020: i. Transmission Terminal Equipment (SDH Equipment, Multiplexing Equipment): ii. PON family of Broadband Equipment (PON ONT. PON ONU and PON OLT); iii. Feedback Device ' 3. Applications for testing and certification of telecommunication equipments under phase-Il of Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunications Equipment (MTCTE) shall be acceptable on MTCTE portal w.e.f. 25.06.2020. However, for sale, import or use of these telecom equipments in India, such certification shall become mandatory w.e.f. 01, 10.2020. 4. All trade associations/members of Customs Brokers Association are requested to take note and publicize the contents of this public Notice among their members/constituents. 5. For the departmental officers, this may be treated as Standing Order. 6. Difficulties. if any, may be brought to the notice or Additional Commissioner of Customs (Technical), ACC Import, New Customs I louse, New Delhi through e-mail on email ID: [email protected].
