Statement of irrecoverable demand. - Income Tax - 1386/CBDT

INSTRUCTION NO. 1386/CBDT Dated: March 2, 1981 Reference is invited to boards letter F.No.375/26/75-IT(B) dated 5th June 1975, wherein the annual statement regarding remission or abandonment of claim to revenue was required to be sent to the board. It has been decided that like other statements, this should henceforth be furnished by all commissioners to the director of Inspection(Research, Statistics publication) by 30th June following the financial year, beginning from the year, 1980-81 onwards. The statement can be compiled from the register of Irrecoverable demand required to be maintained by each ITO . 2. D.I.(RS P) will compile the statistical data every year and furnish the consolidated information to the board by 31st July every year. 3. The accuracy of the information supplied may kindly be ensured as the same has ultimately to be furnished to the Parliament and to the receipt audit. 4. The receipt of this instruction may please be acknowledged.
