U/s section 6 of the Customs Act, 1962 - Sashastra Seema Bal officers to exercise certain functions of Customs officer within local limits specified area - 99/2014 - Customs - Non TariffExtract [TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE GAZETTE OF INDIA, PART-II, SECTION 3, SUB-SECTION (ii), EXTRAORDINARY] GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF FINANCE DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE CENTRAL BOARD OF EXCISE AND CUSTOMS NOTIFICATION NO. 99/2014-CUSTOMS (N.T.) DATED THE 27 th October, 2014 S.O. (E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) , the Central Government hereby entrusts to the officers and subordinate officers of the Sashastra Seema Bal constituted under section 4 of the Sashastra Seema Bal Act, 2007 (53 of 2007) and mentioned in coloum (2) of the Table below, the functions of an officer of customs specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table and directs that each such officer and subordinate officer shall exercise the functions of an officer of customs within the local limits of the areas specified in the Schedule hereto annexed, namely: - TABLE Sl. All Commandants, 2 nd Commandants Deputy Commandants and Assistant Commandants (1) Functions under sections 100 to 103 (both inclusive), 106 , 107 , 109 and 110 . 2. All Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors Functions under sections 100 , 102 , 106 , 107 and 110 3. All Assistant Sub-Inspectors Functions under sections 100 and 106 Schedule So much of the area comprised within a belt of 15 kilometers in the States of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh running along the Indo-Nepal and Indo-Bhutan Border, and in any area of its operation.
