Central Government rescinds the Notification Number S. O. 1279 (E) dated 19.05.2009 - S.O. 1273 (E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 19th April, 2017 S.O. 1273 (E) .-WHEREAS, M/s. Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation, had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for textile sector at Village Chincholi-Kati, Taluka Mohal, District Solapur in the State of Maharashtra; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules 2006 , had notified an area of 103 hectares vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S. O. 1279 (E) dated 19.05.2009; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation has now proposed to de-notify entire area of 103 hectares of the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Maharashtra has given its No Objection to the proposal vide letter no. SEZ-2006/CR-7/2014/Ind-2 dated 07th November, 2016. AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, SEEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of entire area of 103 Hectares of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
