Central Government de-notifies an area of 16.336 hectares, thereby making resultant area as 179.222 hectares at SIPCOT Industrial Area, Sriperumbudur in the State of Tamil Nadu - S.O. 2343(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 1st June, 2018 S.O. 2343(E).- Whereas, M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited, had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Electronics/Telecom Hardware and support services including trading and logistics activities at SIPCOT Industrial Area, Sriperumbudur in the State of Tamil Nadu; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , had notified and de-notified the following areas at above Special Economic Zone as per the details given below:-- S.No. Notification No. Date Notified Area in Hectares De-notified area in hectares Total Area in Hectares (i) S.O. 2141 (E) 22.12.2006 189.771 - 189.771 (ii) S.O. 1308 (E) 31.07.2007 41.369 - 231.14 (iii) S.O. 677(E) 02.03.2015 - 11.832 219.308 (iv) S.O. 1219(E) 17.03.2016 - 23.75 195.558 AND, WHEREAS, M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited has now proposed for de-notification of 16.336 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has given its approval to the proposal vide letter No. 1873/MIE.2/2017-3 dated 07.11.2017; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, Madras Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of an area of 16.336 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 16.336 hectares, thereby making resultant area as 179.222 hectares, comprising the survey numbers and the area given below in the table, namely:- TABLE FOR DE-NOTIFICAITON AREA Sl.
