To set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for electronic hardware technology park and information technology and information technology enabled services at Gandhinagar Electronic Estate, Gandhinagar in the State of Gujarat. MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi , the 18th December, 2008 S.O. 2925(E).— Whereas M/s. Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation has proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the Act), to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for electronic hardware technology park and information technology and information technology enabled services at Gandhinagar Electronic Estate, Gandhinagar in the State of Gujarat; And whereas the Central Government is satisfied that requirements under sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the said Act, and other related requirements are fulfilled and it has granted letter of approval under sub-section (10) of Section 3 of the said Act for development, operation and maintenance of the sector specific Special Economic Zone for electronic hardware technology park and information technology and information technology enabled at Gandhinagar Electronic Estate area on the 13th July, 2006; And whereas the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules, 2006, has notified the total area of 28 hectares at Gandhinagar Electronic Estate, Gandhinagar in the State of Gujarat as a Special Economic Zone for electronic hardware technology park and information technology enabled services in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification No. S.O. 2095(E) dated 13th December, 2006; Now, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby makes following amendment in the Notification No. S.O. 2095(E) dated 13th December, 2006, namely; For the words "Electronic Hardware Technology park/information technology enabled services", the words "electronic hardware technology park and information technology and information technology enabled services", shall be substituted.
