Appointment of Officers of Customs - Amendment to Notification No. 27/97-Cus. (N.T.) Notification No. 40/97-Cus. (N.T.) Dated 10-9-1997 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section (4) of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 27/97-Customs (N.T.), dated the 7th July, 1997, namely :- In the table to the said notification :- (a) against serial no. 8, for the entries in column (2), the following shall be substituted, namely :- "Port and airport of Visakhapatnam and the areas under the Municipal Corporation of Visakhapatnam in the state of Andhra Pradesh; (b) against serial no. 11, in column (2) for item (b), the following shall be substituted, namely :- "the Union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and the Union territory of Daman and Diu"; (c) against serial no. 17, for the entries in column (2), the following shall be substituted, namely :- "the whole of the areas in the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Hassan, Chickamangalur, Shimoga, Uttara Kannada, Dharwad, Belgaum and Bijapur including the areas under the Mangalore Port", in the state of Karnataka".
