Amendment to Notification No. 250/83-Cus. - Appointment of customs officers Notification No. 25/89-Cus. (N.T.) Dated 9-5-1989 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government hereby makes the following further amend ment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 250/83-Customs, dated the 27th August, 1983, namely : - In the Table to the said notification, for Item No. 2 and the entries relating thereto, the following item and entries shall be substituted, namely : - (1) (2) (3) (4) "2(a) Districts of Pithoragarh, Almora, Nainital, Pilibhit, Bareilly, Lakhimpur-Kheri, Sahjahanpur, Hardoi, Sitapur, Baharaich, Lucknow, Unnao, Rai-Bareilly, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Faizabad, Gonda, Basti, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Azamgarh, Ballia, Jaunpur, Gazipur and Varanasi in the State of Uttar Pradesh Collector of Customs (Prev.) Patna for the entire Collecto rate. Addl. Collector of Customs, Muzaffarpur in respect of districts in the States of Bihar and West Bengal and Sikkim as shown in Col. 1 Dy. Collector of Cus toms work ing under the control of Collector of Customs (P) Patna Asstt. Col lector of Customs working under the control of Collector of Customs (Prev.) Patna. Addl. Collector of Customs Gorakhpur in respect of the districts in the State of U.P. as shown in Col. 1 (b) District of Purbi Champa ran Paschimi Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur Begu sarai, Khagaria, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnea, Bhoj pur and Rohtas in the state of Bihar (c) District of Darjeeling, Islampur Sub-division of West Dinajpur District and Jal paiguri Sadar Sub-division of Jalpaiguri district in the State of West Bengal (d) The State of Sikkim.
