Exemption to specified goods used in Leather Industry [ Ch. 34 and 32] Notification No. 379/87-Cus. Dated 21-12-1987 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of fne Customs Act, 1962 (57 of 1962), and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 388/86-Customs, dated the 29th July, 1986, the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts the goods specified in Column (3) of the Table hereto annexed and falling within the Chapter of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975) specified in the corresponding Column (2) of the said Table, when imported into India for use in the leather industry, from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of forty-five per cent ad valorem .
