Amends Notification No. 21/84-Cus. [G.E. No. 179] Notification No. 376/87-Cus. Dated 17-12-1987 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 21/84-Customs, dated the 15th February, 1984, namely :- In the said notification, - (a) in the opening paragraph, for the words and figures "from the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975)", the words and figures "from the so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the first Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975) as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 25% ad valorem" shall be inserted. (b) in paragraph 2 for the figures, letters and words "31st day of December, 1987" the figures, letters and words "31st day of December, 1988" shall be substituted.
