Baggage (Amendment) Rules, 1986 Notification No. 20/86-Cus. Dated 20-1-1986 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 79 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Baggage Rules, 1978, namely :— 1. (1) These rules may be called the Baggage (Amendment) Rules, 1986. (2) They shall come into force on the 15th day of February, 1986. 2. In the Baggage Rules, 1978,— (a) in rule 3, after the Explanation to the proviso, the following provisos shall be inserted, namely :— "Provided further that, subject to the conditions and limitations laid down in this rule, a passenger shall be allowed to import free of duty a Colour Television Set or Video Cassette Recorder or Video Cassette Player or Video Camera only up to five hundred rupees of its value : Provided also that nothing contained in this rule shall apply to any unaccompanied baggage." (b) in Rule 4A, in sub-rule (2), after item (d) and the entry relating thereto the following item and entry shall be inserted namely:— "(dd) cartridges of fire arms exceeding 50."; (c) in rule 9, after item (ii) and the entry relating thereto, the following item and entry shall be inserted, namely :— "(iia) cartridges of fire arms exceeding 50;".
