De-notification of an area of 10.4813 hectares at Plot No. II-F.1, Block-II-F, Action Area-II, New Kolkata Township, Rajarhat, Kolkata in the State of Weal Bengal and the Central Government - S.O. 454(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 23rd Eebruary, 2010 S.O. 454(E).- Whereas, M/s. DLF Limited, has proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Information Technology and information Technology Enabled Services at Plot No. II-F.1, Block-II-F, Action Area-II, New Kolkata Township, Rajarhat, Kolkata in the State of Weal Bengal; And, whereas, the Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , has notified the total area of 10.4813 hectares at Plot No. II-F.1, Block-II-F, Action Area-II, New Kolkata Township, Rajarhat, Kolkata in the State of Weal Bengal as Special Economic Zone in the Government of India, Ministry of Commerce Industry Notification No. S.O. 1523(E), dated 23rd June, 2008. And whereas M/s. DLF Limited has proposed to de-notify an area of 10.4813 hectares at Plot No. II-F.1, Block-II-F, Action Area-II, New Kolkata Township, Rajarhat, Kolkata in the State of Weal Bengal and the Central Government has granted letter of approval for de-notification at West Bengal on 5th June, 2009; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby rescinds the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department of Commerce) dated 23rd day of June, 2008 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, wide number S.O. 1523 dated the 23rd June, 2008 except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
