Prohibition on Export of Non-basmati Rice - exemption regarding - 55/2009-2014 - Foreign Trade PolicyExtract [TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY PART II SECTION 3, SUB SECTION (ii)] GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF COMMERCE INDUSTRY DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE NOTIFICATION NO. 55/2009-2014 New Delhi, the 6th August, 2010 Subject: Prohibition on Export of Non-basmati Rice - exemption regarding S.O.(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 read with Section 3(2) of the Foreign Trade (Development Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) and also read with Para 1.3 and Para 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-2014 , the Central Government hereby makes, with immediate effect, the following amendment to Notification No.38 (RE-2007)/2004-2009, dated 15.10.2007 read with Notification No. 93 (RE-2007)/2004-2009 dated 1.4.2008 and also read with Notification No. 42/2009-2014 dated 18.05.2010 , as amended from time to time. 2. With immediate effect, the existing entry at para (2) (3) of Notification No. 42/2009-2014 dated 18.05.2010 is substituted to read as under:- "2.1.13 The ban on export of Non-Basmati rice shall also not be applicable on export of 3 lakh tonnes of parboiled non-Basmati rice to Bangladesh from the Central Pool at prevalent economic cost through FCI." 1 [ The above quantity of 3 lakh tones of non-basmati rice (Parboiled) to Bangladesh will be exported by the PSUs of Department of Commerce viz. M/s. STC and M/s. PEC Ltd. as follows: S. No. Quantity (MTs) Name of PSU through which export to be made 1. 2,00,000 STC 2. 1,00,000 PEC Total 3,00,000. ] 3. All other provisions of the Notification No. 93 (RE-2007)/2004-09 dated 1st April, 2008 , as amended from time to time, shall remain unchanged, and shall continue to apply. 4.
