Registration of contracts for export of cotton by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade - regarding - 12(RE-2010)/2009-14 - Foreign Trade Policy

Notification No. 12(RE-2010)/2009-14 New Delhi, Dated 16 th December, 2010 Subject:- Registration of contracts for export of cotton by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade - regarding S.O. (E) In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with Para 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-14 , the Central Government hereby makes, with immediate effect, the following amendments in respect of Sl. No. 161 A { ITC(HS) Classification } in the Notification No. 58/2009-14 dated 17.08.2010 read with Notification No. 6(RE-2010)/2009-14 dated 30.09.2010:- 2. During the Cotton Season, 2010-11(upto 30.09.2011) the export of cotton will be subject to a cap of 65 lakh bales or as notified by DGFT from time to time. The effect of this notification:- The export contracts of cotton (Tariff Codes 5201, 5202 5203) will now be registered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade. Earlier, such registrations were with Textile Commissioner, Mumbai. (Anup K. Substituted vide Notification No. 32(RE-2010)/2009-14, dated 14/03/2011, before it was read as: - The contracts for export of cotton shall be registered with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade prior to shipment. Clearance of cotton consignments by Customs should be after verifying that the contracts have been registered. Further Amended vide Notification No. 57 (RE-2010)/2009-14, dated 09/06/2011, before it was read as:- The contracts for export of cotton shall be registered with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade prior to shipment. During the Cotton Season, 2010 11(upto 30.09.2011) the export of cotton will be subject to a cap of 55 lakh bales or as notified by DGFT from time to time. Clearance of cotton consignments by Customs should be after verifying that the contracts have been registered. Further Substituted vide Notification No. 62 (RE-2010)/2009-2014, dated 02/08/2011, before it was read as:- The contracts for export of cotton shall be registered with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade prior to shipment. During the Cotton Season, 2010-11(upto 30.09.2011) the export of cotton will be subject to a cap of 65 lakh bales or as notified by DGFT from time to time. Clearance of cotton consignments by Customs should be after verifying that the contracts have been registered. A new procedure of registration is being separately notified for export of Cotton [ITC (HS) Code 5201 5203]. In respect of cotton waste including yarn waste and garneted stock [ITC (HS) Code 5202] there is no change even in the procedure to obtain registration. Customs would clear such cotton export consignments [ITC (HS) codes 5201 5203] only after verifying that the contracts have been so registered. ] 5203 Cotton, carded or combed Free 1 [The contracts for export of cotton, during the Cotton Season 2010-11(up to 30.09.2011), shall have to be registered with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade prior to shipment.
