Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation, Kerala Notification No : S.O. 962(E), dated 13-6-2007. Whereas, the M/s. Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation had proposed for setting up of a sector specific Special Economic Zone for food processing at Chelembra Village, Thirurangadi Taluk, Malappuram District in the State of Kerala was approved in principle on 7th March, 2005 by the Board of Approval constituted by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department of Commerce) number 14/1/2004-EPZ, dated the 7th August, 2001, and the possession of the land for the said purposes was already taken over by Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation prior to commencement of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006; And whereas, sub-rule (3) of rule 5 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 covers all the approval accorded or recommendation made by the Board of Approval before the commencement of the said rules for setting up of Special Economic Zone for various sectors and makes further provisions for development of setting up of such Special Economic Zones; And whereas, the Central Government is satisfied that requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act, and other related requirements are fulfilled and it has granted letter of formal approval under sub-section (10) of section 3 of the Act for development, maintenance and operation of the sector specific Special Economic Zone for food processing at the said Chelembra Village area on 6th July, 2006; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Act and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby notifies the following area at Chelembra Village, Thirurangadi Taluk, Malapuram District in the State of Kerala, comprising of the Survey numbers and the area given in the table below, as a Special Economic Zones namely :— Table Sl.
