Dispensing with Verification of DEPBs at EDI ports

CBEC has  issued a circular no. 11/2007 Cus dated 13-02-2007 with regard to Dispensing with Verification of DEPBs  at  EDI ports in the light of Electronic Transmission of Shipping Bills and DEPBs..

However, the date of implementation of this circular is to be decided by the Commissioner of Customs in consultation with the Directorate General of Systems.

From the date of implementation of circular no. 11/2007 the tedious and cumbersome procedure for verification of DEBP under old Circular No. 14/99 Cus dated 15-03-1999 shall be done away With.

For non EDI ports the procedure of verification of DEPB scrips shall continue to be same as earlier - Circular No. 14/99 Cus dated 15-03-1999
